Anhand der vorgelegten Interpretation eines rätselhaften Geometriebeispiels in Platons Menon-Dialog (St. 86e-87b) wird gezeigt, was Thema des Dialogs ist: Die Lehrbarkeit der Tugend ist nur das Modell, an dem ein Begriff von Erkenntnis erläutert wird. Ein solcher Begriff kommt ohne den Unterschied von „richtiger Vorstellung und Erkenntnis“ nicht aus.
