Prototyps angegeben. |

A key difficulty in requirements engineering is to create a shared understanding between developer and customer. One from this difficulty resulting method is the creation of requirement related videos by the software engineers, since video is a very rich mode of communication. A central application of videos is the visualization of visions or future scenarios. The videos are played to the customer to verify that this vision matches the customer’s idea or to recognize misunderstandings. Previous works have shown advantages of video over textual use cases. Nevertheless, this is not a method established in requirements engineering. One reason for this could be the lack of experience of software developers in video production. The effort needed to produce the videos may be too high or the quality of the videos not satisfactory.
In this work a prototype of a video recorder is developed, which supports the user in creating good videos. To get an idea about what constitutes “good videos”, guidelines for video production were analyzed. Subsequently concepts were created to automate these guidelines through the video recorder. In an evaluation the prototype was compared with a standard mobile phone camera. The subjects indicated a statistically significantly higher subjective video quality and a lower estimated production effort when using the prototype. |
