Abstract:
This work presents a detailed description and analysis of novel light trapping schemes, namely macroporous blind holes and diffuse rear reflectors with silicon nanopowder, for crystalline silicon solar cells. Electrochemical etching of macropores in n-type silicon is characterized and evaluated as a kerf-less wafering method in silicon. Furthermore, the impact of light trapping on the limiting efficiency of silicon solar cells is discussed.
