Abstract:
In this work, the role of carbon black (CB) as reinforcing material for elastomer composites was studied on various length-scales.The technique of static, volumetric gas adsorption was utilized to elucidate the energetic- and morphological characteristics of the surface of CB on the smallest length-scale. Furthermore, rheological measurements simultaneously measuring the mechanical- as well as the dielectric response of the sample, have been conducted.
